Yes. There's no account, no subscription, and no hidden tier. The service is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertising on content pages like this one.
What happens if I open my own link twice?
If you chose "view once," the second attempt will show an error saying the secret was already revealed or no longer exists — because it's truly gone after the first view, even for you.
Can SingleReveal staff read my secret?
Secrets are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored, and the encrypted record is deleted the moment it's viewed or expires. There's no admin panel or backend tool built to browse secret contents.
What's the maximum size for a text secret or file?
Text secrets can be up to 10,000 characters. File uploads support most common formats — images, PDFs, text files, zip archives, and Word documents — up to 10MB.
How long can a secret stay active before someone opens it?
Up to 7 days. After that, even an unopened secret is automatically deleted.
Can I add a password on top of the link?
Yes. Setting a password means the recipient needs both the link and the password to view the secret — useful if you want to send each piece through a different channel.
What if someone forwards my link to another person?
Whoever opens the link first gets the content, and (depending on your expiry setting) the link may then become invalid for anyone else, including the original recipient. Treat the link itself as sensitive — don't post it anywhere public.
Do you keep logs of what I share?
We keep minimal server logs for abuse prevention (timestamps, error rates, rate-limiting data tied to IP addresses), but never the decrypted content of a secret. Full details are in our

Is this a good substitute for a password manager?
No — SingleReveal is for transmitting a secret one time, not storing it long-term. For ongoing password storage, a dedicated password manager is the right tool. SingleReveal is for the moment you need to hand a credential to someone else securely.
Can I generate a strong password directly on the site?
Yes — the homepage includes a built-in password generator that creates strong, memorable passwords with adjustable length and character options, which you can then share as a one-time secret in the same flow.
