About SingleReveal

A small, focused tool built on one idea: the safest way to share a secret is to make sure it can only ever be read once.

Every day, people need to send something sensitive to someone else — a database password, a Wi-Fi key, an API token, a one-time verification code. The usual channels for this are bad fits: email gets archived and searched forever, Slack messages sit in searchable history, and text messages get backed up to the cloud. None of those tools were built to handle a secret responsibly.

SingleReveal exists to close that gap. You paste in text or upload a file, set how it should expire, and get back a single link. The recipient opens that link once, sees the secret, and from that moment on it is gone — permanently deleted from our database, not just hidden from view.

Why we built it

The idea behind one-time secret sharing isn't new, but most existing tools are either abandoned, slow, cluttered with unrelated features, or owned by companies with unclear data practices. We wanted something fast, minimal, and transparent about exactly what happens to your data and when.

How the security model works

When you submit a secret, it's encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it ever touches our database. We don't store secrets in plain text at any point, and the encryption key never leaves our server's memory. Once the secret is read — or once its timer runs out, whichever comes first — it is deleted outright. There's no "soft delete," no recovery option, and no backup copy sitting in a snapshot somewhere. If you didn't save it before reading it, it's gone for good, by design.

Who this is for

What we don't do

We don't require an account. We don't ask for your email. We don't build a profile of what you've shared. The only data we temporarily hold is the encrypted secret itself, deleted automatically per our Privacy Policy.
